The leadership election will help us choose the next Premier of Ontario and set the direction of the Ontario Liberal Party to shape how we prepare to serve Ontarians in the future. Member participation ensures the outcome reflects voices from across the province.

The Leader will be chosen by Ontario Liberal Party members through a ranked-ballot vote conducted online.

Ontario Liberal Party members who join by the applicable membership deadline are eligible to vote in the leadership process.

The final date to join the Ontario Liberal Party, as a member of a constituency association or women’s club, and be eligible to vote is 6:00 pm Monday, September 7.
The final date to join as a member of a student club and be eligible to vote is 5:00 pm Friday, September 25. -

You can become a member by signing up online.

Online voting will be open from Monday, November 9 to Friday, November 20. Voting will take place online using a ranked-ballot system, allowing members to rank candidates in order of preference.

Election results will be announced at an in-person event on Saturday, November 21.

Yes. The Party will organize leadership debates and all-candidates events across Ontario. Details will be shared as events are confirmed.

As per the constitution, points are allotted for each voting association, and awarded to leadership candidates based on the proportion of votes they receive in each association. Each constituency association will be allotted 100 points, student clubs will be allotted 50 points, and women’s clubs will be allotted 5 points.
